THE JUDGMENT

The Judgment is a story about Mityo and his son Vasko, who live in a poor area, near the Bulgarian-Turkish-Greek border. Mityo has lost everything that has mattered to him: his wife, his work, his son’s trust. In order to get him back, Mityo has to seek forgiveness for his sin, committed 25 years ago.

STEPHAN KOMANDAREV is a Bulgarian director, producer and scriptwriter, who has a number of award-wining documentaries and feature films such as: The World is Big and Salvation Lurks Around the Corner, 2008 (It was the first Bulgarian film, shortlisted for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscar Academy Awards (2010), the most world-wide theatrical released Bulgarian film ever: it was distributed in 93 countries, won 35 awards at international film festivals, one third of which were audiences’ awards); The Town of Badante Women (doc., 2009), Alphabet of Hope (2003, doc), Bread over the Fence (doc., 2002), Dog’s Home” (1999). The Judgment, his recent feature film will have its world premiere in October 2014 in the main competition of the Warsaw International film festival. Currently, Stephan works on one documentary and the development of a feature film. He is 2011 EAVE graduate and Member of the Bulgarian Film Directors’ Association and Bulgarian Film Producers’ Association. Member of European Film Academy
